for people who might be more in the middle. so in california, winners, losers. >> same thing. winners jerry brown. this guy deserves a medal. he denied public opinion polls. also, democratic candidates for state legislature. they managed to win a two-thirds majority in each house which will allow that party to govern without republican obstruction. here's the history of it. the last time the state had a democratic governor and democrats controlled two-thirds of the legislature was 1883. 1883. so this is really a moment for democrats. also state republicans like the national team who now find themselves with only -- it's amazing. 29% of the state's voters. 29%. you can't win elections when you count on basically a quarter of the public as your base. it just won't work. it won't work. this is even worse than national republican party. california republicans have to find a way to broaden their base if they hope to govern in the near future. >> we mentioned prop 30 briefly. safe to say that education was one of the winners at the local level had. >> absolutely. local schools which saw most of t

was the vietnamese in california who are there in huge numbers. they've now migrated from los angeles up towards san francisco, just like in miami in a way, there's -- the san jose mercury, a famous old newspaper is, there is now a viet-mercury. unfortunately, i couldn't speak vietnamese, and i couldn't read the paper either. i mean, just not even close. to ours. and then i heard about the following fact about miami: miami seems to be the only city in the whole world in which people from another country with another language and a very different culture took over at the voting machine a big, metropolitan area in just over i would say, slightly over one generation. i'm talking about the cubans. we have a havana-born gentleman here to my right, and so i said i've just got to go, i've got to go see what this is all about. i knew so little -- i still thought that the great industry was tourism in miami. and then i found out that for some time it's been shipping, including shipping that made the miami federal reserve bank have more cash than all the rest of the federal reserve banks put together. but now

california and through wednesday and thursday it looks like we will be looking at still a weak high pressure hod holding on. the numbers modifying and looking a the a pretty decent week. although maybe we would like to see some of that snow and rain materialize by next weekend. near 41 in lake tahoe today. sacramento had some very cold numbers, responding to some mid-november sun. high of 60 today. it's still cool in los angeles at 68. back home numbers in the 50s along our coast with the sea breeze returning in the afternoon. 58 downtown. 58 in palo alto. and the 49ers will return home for a division match-up against the rams. numbers will be near 60 at candlestick, 62 watsonville, and so many events going on for the veterans today. the weather will be very nice. so they probably need the coat out there. but by the afternoon getting mild. up he were 60s and near 70s. thicken clouds, maybe rain north bay by the end of the north week but it looks pretty dry at this point. interesting is to see what develops next weekend. >> this is the kind of weather i like. although i won't talk about the r
